We’ve come a long way, Baby

27/09/18

Having a dig around in our images folders - doing a bit of a reshuffle - when I came across old photos of what we now know to be the Conservatory and Not Bored Room meeting rooms.

Duke Studios and Sheaf St was a belt factory in a former life, before it became home to around 116 co-workers and residents; a bar; cafe; multi-purpose event space and meeting rooms. Co- Founders Laura and James got the keys to the building in March 2015 and did much of the work by hand - with the help of a lot of good friends - being rewarded with a nomination for Yorkshire Property Award’s Restoration/Regeneration Project of the Year 2016.

I personally love seeing how buildings have changed over the years in function and style - whilst retaining their history. The old signage from the front of the building, for example, has been incorporated into our much-loved Yarden sign.

It’s the history and creative bones of the building that I think make it such an inspiring place to be - perfect for when you need to be at work and be productive but want to feel like you’re also having a lovely time with like-minded people.

There are many more gems like this so keep your eyes peeled for more posts coming soon and have a read of our timeline for the journey so far - with many more exciting projects in the pipeline.
